Tarpon Fishing

This summer we went to the Keys for some fishing. I hooked up with this "bad boy" at 10 PM and it took about 45 minutes to boat him. We actually hooked up in the Gulf of Mexico and finally landed him about a mile away in the Atlantic Ocean.

The tarpon is a game fish and of course was released after we got a few pictures. Sitting on my mantle is the "Silver Scale" award which is awarded for a tarpon in excess of 100 pounds. This was sport fishing at its best.

This is my wife Sue and myself holding our catches at the Oregon Inlet in North Carolina. She has a Dolphin and I have a Tuna.

We then travelled south to the Outer Banks where Sue ;caught a "Citation" Dolphin.

She was awarded a "Citation" from the State of North Carolina for her catch.

In order to be awarded a "Citation", the fish must weigh 30 pounds or more. Hers weighed 38 pounds.
