Standing on the tip of the peninsula, we were fortunate as it was a clear day, and we got this picture of the Atlas Mountains in Africa.

It was easy to see how cannons on Gibralter could easily control ship traffic in and out of the Mediterranean.

Gibralter was a major base during the Second World War and there are many miles of tunnels within the Rock itself which were used for both storage and a hospital.
