Internet Tip of the Week

Copy and Paste

Copy and Paste is one of the most powerful tools at
your disposal in the Windows Environment.  You can
do this in almost any application you happen to be
working with.

Say for example, someone sends you the URL of a
web site you are interested in visiting.    Rather than
writing it down and typing it into the Address area in
your Browser, simply highlight the URL by dragging
your mouse across it.  Go to the top bar (usually under
"Edit") and click on Copy.  You can also use a shortcut
like I do - highlight the information and then while
holding down the CTRL key, depress the letter "C".
(CTRL-C)  This copies the data to your Clipboard.

Then, start your Web Browser and delete the information
in the Address Block again, go to the Top Bar, and select
"Edit" and then "Paste".  I use the CTRL-V shortcut.
(Some Browsers automatically highlight the information
when you click on the Address Block and you can "Paste"
right over it without deleting what's there.)

This is only one way to use this powerful feature.  Don't
be afraid to experiment with others.
